Eligibility & Scope: This DIY-Optimized Permit Compliance Kit is designed specifically for homeowners and contractors who:

• Have an active, valid permit in place with the City of St. Petersburg (or applicable jurisdiction).
• Have missed one or more in-progress inspections for electrical or insulation work associated with that permit.

This Kit is NOT valid for:

• After-the-fact, unpermitted work.
• Projects requiring major structural inspections or revealing structural deficiencies.
• Unsafe or hazardous conditions that require immediate professional intervention.

Kit Use & Requirements:

• The kit includes a Compact Electrical Tester (for GFCI, outlets, lighting checks), a Thermal Scanner (pre-calibrated, easy to use), a printed checklist, and online access to our guided video walkthrough.
• You must be able to securely upload photos of electrical panels, outlets, and lighting, as well as thermal images for insulation verification, via our secure portal.

What’s Included in Our Review: Oasis Engineering will conduct an engineer review of your uploaded materials to verify compliance with applicable building codes for the specified electrical and insulation work.

Certification & Outcomes:

• A Signed, Sealed Engineer Affidavit will only be provided if your submitted materials confirm that the conditions meet code requirements.
• If your submission fails to demonstrate code compliance or provides insufficient evidence:
  • You will receive recommendations for corrections needed.
  • An additional full engineer site visit may be required at an additional cost to achieve certification.
• No affidavit will be issued for work that does not meet code requirements or where insufficient data is provided for review.

Pricing & Deposit Terms:

• The total kit price is $199.00.
• $50.00 of your purchase is a non-refundable equipment insurance deposit. This covers equipment use and shipping costs.
• If certification cannot be provided after our review, the remaining fee of $149.00 is refundable, provided all equipment is returned in good condition within the specified timeframe (see Equipment Return Policy below).

Equipment Return Policy:

• You must return the compact electrical tester, thermal scanner, and all kit materials using the provided prepaid return label within 10 business days of kit delivery.
• Failure to return the equipment, or if the equipment is returned damaged or with missing components, will result in forfeiture of your entire $199.00 payment. The replacement value of the equipment exceeds the kit’s purchase price.
